Arnis fighting (stick fighting)

Arnis Fighting is a form of a martial art which offers a unique technique to defend yourself and offend your opponents. Usually a wooden ‘sick’/ ‘sticks’ is used for fighting which is ordinary, slim, handy, blunt and tough ‘staff’ like stick. The stick used in this particular stick fighting art, in length is 28 inches (71 cm). This form of martial art was originally born in Filipino and was founded by Remey Presas. There are different techniques which are very simple and traditional.
One learns “range” and “angles” in the first technique training. This basic training can be used in any form of weapon fighting. ( Dagger, Baston, staff and bare hands)

The technique of self control gives you energy to be accurate and positive in every hit you make. This important technique shown to the learners in the initial years of training.
It is a combat that has to be learnt with a clear mind and inner self confidence. That only comes with Proper concentration and self will.
The next thing that is taught to the learners is the footwork in combat for self defense and a powerful hit on the opponents.
In the later stages the learners are shown how to combine all of the confidence, self will, concentration, foot work and all different types of stances to have a defensive or offensive combat.
The tradition of herbal cure on the cuts and wounds are taught to the learners of Arnis fighting learners.
